Biz Buzz – Interview Questions Get You the Right People… or not
As small business owners we don’t spend a lot of time honing our interviewing skills or developing interview questions until we’re faced with growth or need to fill a vacancy. The interview process, nevertheless, is crucial in determining the fit of the applicant.
Resumes or letters of recommendation are helpful, of course, yet the types of questions lead to a better understanding of how the candidate thinks and responds to the environment. We want to make darn sure we ask the right questions, and enough of them, to give us a micro and macro view of our potential new hire.
